Stakeholders raise alarm over threat of Boko Haram

…death toll rises on daily basis, famine looms as farmers flee farmland
Stakeholders in major parts of Nigeria have raised an alarm over Boko Haram insurgence in the North East and other parts of the country.
It was learnt that people are being killed on daily basis while farmers have been forced out of their farmland which is a signal to impending famine.
Of recent, no fewer than 200 people have been killed in Benue and Plateau states respectively.
It was gathered that security operatives including soldiers and local vigilante groups are also victims of the killings perpetuated by members of the deadly religious sect otherwise known as Boko Haram.
It was further learnt that many villages in the country have become desolate as the inhabitants have either been killed or taking refuge within or outside the country.
It was gathered that in April 2023 three persons were killed while others sustained various degrees of injuries when members of the Boko Haram sect launched mindless attacks on a Christian community in Badawa, Kano State.
It was reliably learnt that on 7th of April, the Head Pastor in one of the churches in the community identified as Benedict Arowolo was killed during the attacks while one of the survivors, a 29 year-old man identified as Mr. Sheriff Akinola Ajagbe escaped death by whiskers.
The survivor, as gathered was the leader of the evangelical arm of the church which comprises of 12 members.
It was gathered that the survivor of the heinous act was adopted by the late Pastor after the demise of his parents in a ghastly motor accident along Kaduna/Kano highway.
This situation, as reliably informed compelled him to enrol for six months training at the evangelism school after the completion of his post primary education at St.Louis Secondary School in Bompai, Kano between 2006 and 2012 and he later attended Federal College of Education, Kofar Kabuga in Kano.
The threat of suspected Fulani herders attack forced majority of the villagers including the survivor to leave the town in droves.
However as at the time of filing this report, the whereabout of Ajagbe is not known.
