OYOSUBEB Chair, Adeniran bags CCII award
The Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, on Saturday, received the prestigious Most Distinguished Ibadan Indigene (MDII) award, for his contributions to the development of Ibadanland.
The award was presented by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the apex body of socio-cultural clubs, societies, unions and associations of Ibadan indigenes in all spheres of life, home and abroad.
The CCII had in a letter signed by its President-General, Chief Sulaiman Ajewole and Chairman, Ibadan Week Festival Planning Committee, Chief Abiola Alli, said the Council was concerned and committed to the sustenance of cultural heritage and economic development of Ibadan land.
It said the award was in recognition of Adeniran’s contributions to the growth and development of Ibadanland.
Reacting, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON) congratulated Dr. Adeniran, on the award.
The Chairman, NUT Oyo State chapter, Comrade Raji Oladimeji, said the award was well deserved, adding that it is a sign of recognition of Adeniran’s contributions to the development of basic education in Ibadanland and beyond.
Likewise, the Chairman, AOPSHON, Oyo State, Comrade Ilori Omoshola, congratulated Adeniran, saying the award would spur him to do more for Ibadanland.
In his remarks, Dr. Adeniran expressed gratitude to the CCII leadership and members for the honour and praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts in the basic education sub-sector.
He also commended Governor Makinde’s relentless efforts in promoting the basic education sub-sector in the state.
