Oyo Infrastructure partner at Engr. Lere Adigun GRA, Adeyinka Owodunni resort to self help, hires soldiers to flout court orders

One Adeyinka Owodunni of Allianz Offshore West Africa Ltd who has been appointed as the Infrastructure partner and Estate Manager at the Engineer Lere Adigun GRA by the Oyo state Government has resorted to self help.

In contempt of an order of the Oyo state High Court given on the 21st of November, 2024, Adeyinka Owodunni has this morning hired the Army to jeopardize the enforcement of the Court Order.

The Incorporated Trustees of the Engineer Lere Adigun GRA, Home Owners Association had instituted suit Number I/1217/2024: INCORPORATED TRUSTEES OF ENGINEER LERE ADIGUN GRA HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION ( ELEGRAHOA) AND ALLIANZ WA OFFSHORE LIMITED to challenge the activities of the Oyo state Infrastructure partner.

The matter came up on the 21st of November, 2024 and the Counsel for the Claimant/Applicant, Barr. Oladipo Olasope SAN moved an Application seeking for injunctions against Allianz Offshore West Africa Limited, the Defendant)Respondent.

After listening to Olasope SAN, the Court, presided over by the Hon

 Justice K. B Olawoyin ruled as follows:

“… Accordingly, in view of the foregoing, the Application succeeds and it is hereby granted as prayed in prayers 1-3.

For the avoidance of doubts, the orders granted in favor of the Claimants/Applicants and against the Defendant/Respondent are as follows:

1. An order of interlocutory injunction is granted restraining the Defendant, its Agents, servants, privies, or otherwise howsoever called from the interfering with the title of any or all of the members of the Claimants who are residents of Engineer Lere Adigun GRA, Bashorun, Ibadan, Oyo state, pending the determination of substantive suit by this Honorable Court.

  2. An order of interlocutory injunction is granted restraining the Defendant from further managing the the Engineer Lere Adigun GRA, Bashorun, Ibadan, Oyo state, pending the determination of the substantive suit by this Honorable Court.

3 An order is hereby made suspending operation of the Deed of Restrictions pending the determination of the substantive suit by this Honorable Court.

The substantive Originating Summons is fixed for hearing on 12/12/2024.”

The Order of the Honorable Justice K. B Olawoyin quoted above was partially enforced this morning, Thursday, 28/11/2024, same having been served on the Agents of the Defendant by Court Bailiffs.

However, while the Police cooperated with the enforcement, the Defendant colluded with some men of the Nigerian Army to prevent the Residents of the GRA from bringing a bore hole drilling vehicle into the GRA in violent breach of the Order of the Oyo state High Court which is still subsisting.

As this report is being compiled, men of the Nigerian Army are still located at the main Gate of the GRA to ensure that the Oyo state High Court order could not be fully enforced.

In fact, a staff of Allianz Offshore West Africa Limited, by the name Seyi Abogunrin attempted to vandalize electricity supply within the GRA.
