Oyo CAN Chairman, others visit scene of Ibadan explosion
The Chairman, Christians Association Of Nigeria, Oyo State, Apostle (Dr.) Joshua Sola Akinyemiju, on Thursday, led the leadership of the Christian Community in the state to Dejo Oyelese Street, Bodija, Ibadan, scene of Tuesday’s night explosion.
Apostle Akinyemiju while speaking at the scene, described the incident as unfortunate and sad especially at the beginning of a new year.
The Chairman who visited the scene alongside other executive members of the Association as well as the Chairman, Christian Journalists in the state, Lekan Shobo Shobowale, condoled affected families who lost loved ones and property.
He said even in all that has happened, there is still a place of thanksgiving, describing the limitations of the explosion as a grace and mercy from God.
Akinyemiju who was a retired Colonel in the Nigerian Army interacted with some of the security personnel at the site of the scene, commending them for their prompt response.
He urged the people of the state to continue to pray to God so as to avert future occurrences.
He also lauded the Oyo State government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde for coming to the aid of those affected while assuring them that government is on top of the situation.
On the entourage of the CAN Chairman included Chairman, Nigeria Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ) in Oyo State, Lekan Shobo Shobowale, and members of the Oyo State CAN executives, among others.
