Olubadan lauds NIA over support for new palace 

The Nigeria Institute of Architects (NIA), has been commended for the significant role it played in the architectural design of the new Olubadan Palace at Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, gave the commendation on Tuesday while receiving the national leadership of the NIA in his palace.
Oba Olakulehin while going down memory lane, reiterated that late Architect Biliyaminu  Adegboyega Sodeinde led the group of Architects that designed and supervised the architectural design of the palace.
The monarch speaking through the Asiwaju Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Muibi Ademola Odunade, sought further cooperation on the architectural design of the second phase of the palace which will commence in no distant time, lauding architects for their professional conduct in Nigeria and Ibadanland in particular.
The National President of the Institute of Architects, Architect (Mrs.) Mobolaji  Adeniyi, in her remarks, revealed that NIA members are in Ibadan to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Nigeria Institute of Architects, Western State of Nigeria and attend the National Annual General Meeting of the Institute.
She further disclosed that the NIA was founded in Lagos on April 1, 1960 while the Western State Chapter first of its kind was launched in 1964.
Accompanying the President were Architects Ali Mukhtah and his wife; Afolabi Adedeji; Bode Gbolade; Lola Oyenekan; Akinyemi Olaniyi; Fatayi Falola; S. J. Filiya and S. A. Obatade, among others.
Present at the event include were the Gbonka Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Abiola Arulogun;  Aare Mayegun of Ibadanland and former President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indegenes ( CCII), Chief Bayo Oyero; Aremo Olubadan, Barrister Sumbo Owolabi; Prince (Dr.)  Osuolale Owolabi and Prince Adekunle Owolabi.
