The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, has described the Onyendu Ndi Igbo of Ibadanland and Oyo State, High Chief Alloy Obi, as a bridge builder whose businesses have cement relationship between the people of Yorubaland and the South East.
The monarch made the remark at the 60th birthday of the wife of Obi, Lolo (Mrs.) Peace Obi and 40th wedding anniversary of the couple, held at the Prince and Princess, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
Oba Balogun who was represented by the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Hamidu Ajibade, said Obi through his businesses has contributed greatly to the development of Ibadanland, stating that he is an Igbo leader worthy of emulation by all who meant well for others.
Present at the octane event included the Baale of Ekotedo, Chief Taiye Ayorinde; Chief Festus Osigwe (Ozuomba); Chief Emeka Agbodike (Enyiagbaoso); Chief Emeka Okoli (Nzeakonobi); President Emeritus, Anambra State Forum and Chief of Staff to Onyendu Ndi Igbo, Chief Adolphus N. Okoli, and many others numerous to mention within and outside Oyo State.
The first class monarch maintained that the Onyendu Ndi Igbo, has continued to flourish because he has tremendous respect for the traditional institution, noting that he is a leader whose conduct at all times portrayed him as a man of peace.
Oba Balogun lauded the wife for being a strong pillar not only to her husband but the entire family, stating that she is a virtuos woman who always give High Chief Obi the needed peace at home for him to be a successful businessman and a committed family man
He said, “I am happy to be part of the 60th birthday of Lolo (Mrs.) Peace Obi as well as the 40th wedding anniversary of the family. Onyendu Ndi Igbo is a leader I have known for a long time and I am proud to say that he is a bridge builder between the people of the South East and Yorubaland.
“I have no doubt in my mind that he would continue to make significant contributions to the development of Ibadanland through his businesses and ensure that our people live in peace and harmony.
“I sincerely rejoice with the entire family on this double celebration.”
