Olubadan appoints ex-Oyo NUJ Chairman as CPS
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakunlehin, has appointed a former Chairman of the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade as Chief Press Secretary.
His appointment was conveyed in a letter dated August 29, 2024, signed by Prince Olasunmbo Owolabi Olakulehin, on behalf of the recently crowned paramount ruler of Ibadan land.
Born into the Taiwo Ariyibi Dynasty of E8/215, Eleruko compound, Oke Ofa Baba Isale, Ibadan, Ayoade holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from the Ibadan Polythechnic, Bachelors degree in Cultural Anthropology (1989) and a Masters in Sociology (1995) from the University of Ibadan.
He served meritoriously and retired from the Oyo State Civil Service as Director, Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilisation in the Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.
As a core professional, Ayoade has held several key positions in the NUJ including Financial Secretary, Ministry of Information NUJ Chapel, Treasurer, Vice -Chairman and Chairman of the Oyo State NUJ Council.
At the national level, he served as a member of the 7-man Committee on Insurance Policy for journalists in Nigeria and currently he is the Chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of Oyo State NUJ.
Oba Olakulehin then charged the newly appointed spokesperson to advance the unity and progress of Ibadan land in his new role.
