Nigerian Army, media practitioners are partners in progress — 2 Div GOC

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Major General Bamidele Alabi, has assured that the Nigerian Army will continue to cherish the relationship it has with the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ).
This is just as he stated that the  Nigerian Army sees journalists as partners in progress as the media practitioners have the responsibility to inform the country while the Nigerian Army has the responsibility to protect the country.
Alabi stated these while playing host to the leadership of the Oyo State Council of NAWOJ, at the Conference Hall of the 2 Division, Headquarters, Ibadan.
He further enjoined members of NAWOJ in Oyo State to continue to support the Nigerian Army in its duties of internal security and protecting the territorial integrity of the country.
According to him, this should be done by bearing in mind the national security implication in their reportage, stating that a good partnership and cross checking of facts will do a lot of good for both sides.
The NAWOJ Chairperson, Comrade Jadesola Ajibola, in her remarks, appreciated the GOC and his Staff Officers for the hospitality and support that NAWOJ has continued to enjoy from the Nigerian Army, lauding the GOC, Staff Officers and men of the Division for giving them the opportunity to visit.
She then advocated for what she described as  ‘solution journalism’ as key to resolving the gray areas between the Nigerian Army and journalists in the country.
Highlights of the visit was presentation of souvenir and group photograph.
