Ndume should have known that Tinubu is a deity

By Oluwasina Adeyemi

Within my people, a king is seen as a Deity”. Orisa”, who must not be abused or criticized even when he is brazenly in the wrong.

The Deity is above mistakes and and can commit no errors.

Those Who dotes around the Nigerian president are not hiding the facts that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a Deity, a cult Hero, who, to them knows everything and is therefore above errors.

For this group of lickspittles, to abuse, find faults or criticize the actions of the president is considered a taboo.

How could anyone found faults in the actions of the ” builder of modern Lagos”?

When Senator Alli Ndume set out to pour out his concerns or should I say frustrations about the state of the Nigerian Economy and sundry issues, under president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he obviously should have known that he was venturing into turbulent waters.

The errors, mistakes and inactions of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president of Nigeria is akin to what Yorubas call ” a rii gbodo wi, abi ojugun legbe eti”. See and say no evil.

For daring to say his mind about the hardships in the country and what he thought the president needs to do to make things right, Senator Alli Ndume, just like his counterpart, Abdul Ningi has got his fingers burnt.

He was whipped away from his position as the Senate Whip and equally removed as Deputy Chairman of the Senate Appropriation committee by the ” Man Friday”, Akpabio.

To add salt to his injuries, the All Progressives Congress, APC, through a letter signed by the National chairman and Secretary, wrote a letter to the Senate president, asking Ndume to resign his membership of the APC.

The Leadership of the APC also advised him to join any opposition political party of his choice.

The development is not only petty. It is sad and unfortunate.

Since the advent of Democracy in Nigeria, I have never heard or read of a situation where the Leadership of a political party will ask a Senator who is elected on Its platform to resign and join an opposition political party just because he demonstrated the freedom guaranteed him under the Constitution, the freedom to express himself!

We are indeed living in extremely absurd times.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be worried and not excited at all. That is, if he didn’t have prior knowledge of the tragic-comedy playing out within the APC and the National Assembly because of him.

What manner of a country, what manner of a Legacy is Tinubu building ? if Senior members of the National Assembly from his own political party could not freely express their opinions about his Government?

What exactly did Ndume say that has not been said over and over by Nigerians and outsiders?

Things are extremely hard. Nigerians have never had it so bad.

A Nigerian Senator, out of concerns is trying to wake the president up to his responsibilities and because of that, you’re asking him to bring his head?

When president Tinubu knows he could not stomach criticisms, what is he doing in Aso Rock?

Was he begged to come and be Nigeria’s president?

Did he not ” apply”, begged and pleaded to be the president and while doing so, didn’t he make promises?

If he is not keeping to those promises, shouldn’t he be reminded?

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC Leaders made life a living hell for former president Goodluck Jonathan.

Jonathan was called all manner of names by them.

All manner of protests were organized against Jonathan, with Tinubu an active participant.

What is the difference between Jonathan and Tinubu that Jonathan could endure criticisms and Tinubu couldn’t?

If the president could not handle criticisms, he will do well to return to his palatial residence in Burdillon.

Part of the responsibilities of a president is to be abused and criticized.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC Leaders referred to Jonathan as a clueless president and heavens did not fall.

Why must heavens fall now because Ndume is trying to advise the president?

What could be more tormenting than the dummy coffin of the former president Goodluck Jonathan which the APC carried on live Television then?

The innocent mother of the former president described the excruciating pain she felt when she saw the gory sight.

Yet, Jonathan managed the assaults with dignity, caution and calm.

That is exactly what president Tinubu should also do. You can not slap a baby and expect it not to cry.

Nigerians are hungry and crying. Ndume was merely re echoing the cries of Nigerians.

It is unfortunate that both Akpabio and the Leadership of the APC are behaving like captured species.

They are the ones who should be in the forefront of the wake up call to the president.

There is a limit to elasticity of the human endurance.

I hope things would not get out of hands.

Hungry Nigerians are not members of the National Assembly who could be silenced through some letters from the National chairman of the APC.
