JAALS Foundation mourns Akeredolu

A non-governmental organisation, Justice Aderemi Annual Law Series (JAALS) Foundation, has mourned the death of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN.

The foundation in a statement by a Director of its Board of Trustees, Tolulope Aderemi, while extending its heartfelt condolences to the new Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the good people of Ondo State, said the passing of Akeredolu left it profoundly saddened.

The statement read,  “His loss is not only felt by the people of Ondo State but also by the entire nation. We commend his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people. Arakunrin Akeredolu’s visionary approach and relentless efforts to improve the lives of citizens will always be remembered.

“His remarkable achievements across various sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture, have made an indelible impact on the state’s development.

Akeredolu was renowned for his tireless dedication to improving the lives of Ondo State indigenes. He spearheaded transformative initiatives that brought positive change to the state.

“Similarly, and in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the Association named its new Continuing Legal Education premises in Abuja after Arakunrin Akeredolu in 2022. This honor serves as a testament to his selfless service and dedication to the legal profession.

“During the 2023 Justice Aderemi Annual Law Series, Arakunrin Akeredolu, SAN, was represented as the Special Guest of Honour by the Acting Governor, His Excellency, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The conference, themed “Good Governance, Leadership, and Accountability: The Panacea for a New Nigeria,” showcased his commitment to promoting these principles.

“As the nation mourns the loss of this remarkable leader, administrator, and legal luminary per excellence, Arakunrin Akeredolu’s memory will continue to illuminate for societal emulation.

“On behalf of the JAALS FOUNDATION, we express our deepest sympathies to the family, members of the Nigerian legal profession, friends, and the people of Ondo State during this difficult time. We mourn the loss of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and remember his legacy as a dedicated leader and advocate for the welfare of the people. May his soul rest in peace.”
