Ibadan Stampede : Oyo State Advisory Council commiserates with families, extends condolences to Gov. Makinde 

The Chairman, Oyo State Advisory Council, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN, has commiserated with the families of victims and Governor Seyi Makinde over the recent Ibadan stampede that claimed lives.

In a statement issued in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, the Council wished those who sustained injuries quick recovery.

The statement read, “We are deeply saddened to hear that many precious lives were lost in the stampede during a children’s carnival at Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan, on Wednesday, 18th December, 2024.

“On behalf of the State Advisory Council, I convey my heartfelt condolences to His Excellency and through His Excellency to the bereaved families, relatives and friends of those who perished in the incident; the Government, and the people of Oyo State.

“The Council appreciates the Oyo State Government’s proactive action under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde for taking immediate action to prevent further loss of lives, deploying security agents to restore order at the venue, and providing medical and ambulance services to attend to the injured”

Chief Ayorinde then prayed to the Almighty God to rest the  souls of the departed in eternal peace.
