Faith, key solution to Nigeria’s challenges — Aladekugbe
The Archbishop of Ibadan Province and Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, Most Rev’d (Dr.) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, has said Nigerians must have faith in God through Jesus Christ for the country to overcome the mirage of challenges facing it.
The cleric who enumerated the challenges to include hunger, anger, insecurity of life and property, unemployment, lack of faith in Nigeria as a nation, among others, called on the citizens not to loose hope in the country and its leadership but instead be strong and continue to believe that Nigeria will be great again with her lost glory restored.
Archbishop Aladekugbe gave the admonition on Sunday, in a statement by the Ibadan North Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade, during the rededication service of the Diocesan Women’s Guild at Bishop Oyebode Memorial Anglican church (BOMAC), Agugu, Ibadan.
Citing gospel of St. Matthew, Chapter 8: 2-3, ” And behold, there came a leper and worship him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand and touched him, saying be thou clean and immediately his leprosy was cleansed,” he stated that the leper was healed because of his faith.
He added that a centurion beseeched him to cure his servant of the palsy, grievously tormented asking Jesus to speak the word only, because he had faith and the servant cured based on his faith.
Archbishop Aladekugbe further disclosed that both the leper and centurion approached Jesus Christ with humility and faith.
The clergy noted that Abraham, Isaac and a woman with issue of blood were people who lived and succeeded by faith, adding that Nigerians must stop running helter skelter looking for help, prosperity, healing and solution to challenges facing them through the devil who has no free gift for anybody but to Jesus the solution to their problem which is free, certain and permanent.
Present at the service were clergy, clergy wives , invited guests and the congregation at large.
