Decapitation of the APC in Oyo : I wonder how Chief Bisi Akande sleeps peacefully
By Oluwasina Adeyemi
To say that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been deliberately killing the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state is a fact known to the world now.
The president doesn’t pretend and neither does he hides his disdain for the APC in the pacesetter state.
Right from the day he got the ticket to contest as the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not hide his deep animosities against Oyo APC.
It will interest you to note that after Kano, Oyo state gave Tinubu the second highest number of delegate votes during the presidential primary election.
It was not a case of Oyo APC not voting for Asiwaju during the primary election, neither was it that Oyo divided its delegates.
Oyo APC gave Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu a hundred percent support during the presidential primaries and performed wonderfully at the general election per se.
So, what is the problem? Why is it that the president enjoy paying good with evil in Oyo?
I have labored my mind so much without finding a concrete reason for the cruel treatments president Tinubu has been meting out to the party in Oyo state.
My concerns however is not the president any longer.
It is about a Yoruba proverb which says that when Elders are present, things go well with the new born. ( Agba kii wa loja, ki Ori Omo tuntun wo).
I have been wondering why this is not so in the case of Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor of Osun state and one of the closest men to the president.
Chief Akande, I am sure, as a result of his closeness to president Tinubu, ought to know the grudges the president harbors against the APC in Oyo state that makes the president so embittered that he could not show empathize with the family of the late Oyo APC state chairman and the APC family in Oyo state.
Whether he knows about the grudges of the president is not the only issue here. Much more important is whether he is comfortable and at peace that whatever the grudges of the president against the APC in Oyo, the president is justified to get to the length he has gotten?
Chief Akande is not only a close friend of the president. I think he should be a good friend of Oyo state, as a resident of Ibadan for many years.
Chief Akande, I assume is a colleague, friend and brother Governor with the late Alhaji Lam Adesina, former Governor of Oyo state.
Oyo APC is part of the legacies of Lam. Is Chief Akande happy with the way the legacy of his late friend is being treated presently by a friend of his?
I am also sure that the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and Chief Bisi Akande had close affinities.
Has Baba Bisi Akande ever thought about how both Lam and Ajimobi would be feeling now if truly the dead can look back?
Chief Akande was in the entourage that left loyal APC members in the sun at Mapo for hours while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as presidential candidate went to show solidarity to Seyi Makinde of the PDP in 2023.
While Asiwaju Tinubu was dashing Oyo state to the PDP, Chief Akande can not feign ignorance.
Did Baba ever, for once pause to wonder, if the Great Awolowo, the Leader they always wish to associate with, in Tinubu’s shoes, would ever contemplate such a terrible act?
Now, having done whatever they needed to do to grab power, has Baba ever thought about what could be done to pacify those they nailed to the cross on their way to the top?
Has Baba ever thought about the fact that if the APC lost every other states like It lost Osun and Lagos states, no Jupiter can make Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu president?
I must let Baba know that whatever they and others are enjoying today is a result of the blood and sweat of others.
The last time I checked, Baba is good.
He has taken appointments for his children and in-laws. He himself even got appointed.
Politics is a game of numbers. Oyo state is one of the states that contributed the numbers that made Tinubu president.
It is so sad that Elders like Baba could not tell the president the truth and caution him about his ruthless punishing of people who helped him without taking Kobo.
The good thing about life is that whatever has a beginning surely does have an end one way or the other. ( Ko soun to ndun ti kii tan).
Here, we have resigned to fate and push our matter in the court of God Almighty.
There is God ooo.
