DAY TWO : WPA Grand Prix-Team Nigeria Para-Athletes win 15 medals
Team Nigeria Para-Athletes have won 15 medals at the on going WAP Grand Prix for Athletics in Tunis,Tunisia
The team picked 10 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronze medals as at day two of the event bankrolled by the National Sports Commission(NSC) under the leadership of Mallam Shehu Dikko as Chairman and Hon. Bukola Olopade as the Director General.
Below is the list of the medalists at the ongoing TUNISH 2025 WAP GRAND PRIX .
ADEWALE BABATUNDE – GOLD, 100m Male T12
ONYE LAURITTA – GOLD, DISCUS Female F40
UWAK UNYIME – GOLD, 100m Female
ALAM UGOCHI – GOLD, SHOTPUT Female
OGILI OGOCHUKWU – SILVERÂ FEMALE F55
OBIUKWU EMMANUEL- SHOTPUT MALE F42,
and AGBO DESTINY – BRONZE FEMALE F 44,
FLORA UGWUNWA –Â BRONZE FEMALE F54.
According to the President, Paralympic Committee Nigeria (PCN) Sunday Odebode, who applauded the superlative performance of the Team Nigeria Para Athletes, others atheletes who have won medals at the ongoing TUNISH 2025 WPA GRAND PRIX in TUNISIH are; SEFIU OJELEYE, GOLD 200M, MEN T54; UWAK UNYIME, GOLD 200M FEMALE T47; FLORA UGWUNWA GOLD, WOMEN JAVELIN F54; FLORA UGWUNWA GOLD, WOMEN DISCUS F54; SEFIU OJELEYE, GOLD, MEN 1500M T54; ALAM UGOCHI, GOLD, WOMEN F57 and OGILI OGOCHUKWU, SILVER WOMEN SHOT PUT F55.
Speaking further on the performance of the Team Nigeria Para-Athletes so far at the event, the PCN boss having commended the athletes assured of winning more medals as the meet come to an end tomorrow in Tunisia.
He said, “We have to be grateful to the National Sports Commission (NSC) for the sponsorship of our para athletes to the World Para Athletics (WPA)Grand Prix and its efforts on our athletes are making the country proud as at day two of the Prix and we hope to win more medals.”
