The Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese and the Archbishop of Ibadan Province, Most Reverend (Dr.) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, has called on Christians all over the world to learn how to pray for their prayers to be answered.
He made the call in a sermon during the joint service of the Women’s Guild in Ibadan North Anglican Diocese at Victoria Memorial Anglican Church, Olorunsogo, Ibadan.
The message was contained in a statement issued by the Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Olugbemiga Ayoade, during the said service.
According to Archbishop Aladekugbe, there are two types of prayers personal prayer and intercessionary prayer, stating that the personal prayer addresses the needs of the people such as protection, healthy living, riches, provision, security, success and wisdom as requested by King Solomon in 1st King Chapter 3 verses 9-11,
He added that intercessionary prayer is the act of intervening on behalf of others as done by Jesus Christ interceding for the whole world as well as Prophet Moses interceding for the Israelites.
Archbishop Aladekugbe then enjoined Christians to note that for their prayers to be answered, they must be humble, have faith, give glory to God, persevere, confess and forsake their sins.
He nevertheless appreciated women in the Diocese for their prayers, moral, financial and spiritual support so as to collectively take the Diocese to a greater height.
