Children’s Day : POCACOV urges children to shun vices, take steps towards great future
The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), has rejoiced with children on the celebration of 2025 Children’s Day.
This is just as it enjoined the children to shun crimes and vices to allow their little steps to shape a great future for them.
POCACOV in a statement by its National Coordinator, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, said today’s children should believe in themselves and chase their dreams, and not engage themselves in cultism, taking hard drugs, and other vices that destroy lives and future.
According to her, the reason behind the POCACOV initiative by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, is preventive policing, warning on the dangers of belonging to cult groups and embracing criminality, as well as their consequences.
She noted that POCACOV aimed at solving problems of gangsterism, cultism, extremism and organized crimes, thereby promoting patriotism, national unity, and development of Nigerian society.
“POCACOV encourages children to say ‘no’ to crime and vices, and step forward with curiosity and courage, as their little footsteps today will culminate in giant leaps tomorrow”, she said.
Okuwobi then called on parents to safeguard and secure their children’s future in an environment conducive for good character and learning, which she stated that they will need to thrive.
