Anglican Clerics visit Olubadan – designate
The Olubadan – designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has played host to a team of Clerics from the Anglican denomination at his Alalubosa, Ibadan residence.
The Ibadan North Anglican Chancellor, Barrister COK Iyanda, who introduced the entourage to Oba Olakulehin, said the clerics and the Anglican community were excited to see the Olubadan-designate in church last Sunday and the church attendance gave them the impetus for the visit.
It would be recalled that Oba Owolabi last Sunday worshiped at the Cathedral of St. Peters, Aremo, Ibadan.
The clerics led by Rt. Rev. Joseph Olatunji Akinfenwa, disclosed that their mission was to pay homage to one of their own and a strong supporter of the Anglican community who has been nominated as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Ibadan Kingmakers and to pray for a peaceful and successful reign of the monarch.
Rt. Rev Williams Aladekugbe, Bishop of Ibadan North Diocese, prayed for the good health of the monarch and wisdom like that of King Solomon to direct the affairs of Ibadan.
Aremo Olasunmbo Owolabi Olakulehin, who responded on behalf of the Olubadan – designate, thanked the Anglican clerics for the visit.
He disclosed that the Olubadan-designate’s church attendance last Sunday was the monarch’s initiative as he felt the need to offer his gratitude and thanksgiving to God for his nomination as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Oyo State is expected to respond officially to the nomination of the Olubadan – designate shortly.
