Aladekugbe urges FG to run people-oriented govt 

The Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, the Most Reverend Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, has once again admonished the Federal Government to give priority attention to the welfare of Nigerians
He made the call during the Trinity Ordination and Collation of Archdeacon, on Sunday, held at the Bishop Oyebode Memorial Anglican Church, Agugu, Ibadan
The cleric reminded the Federal Government of the challenges facing the country which include insecurity, hunger, anger and unemployment, among others, urging it to do what is humanly possible to reduce the challenges to the bearest minimum
” Nigeria is blessed with both human and natural resources, why are we suffering in the midst of plenty? “, the clergy queried
He enjoined both the leaders and led to take Nigeria to a great height so as for the country to reach the promised land soonest
The Archbishop charged the newly ordained priests to be evangelical and be filled with the holy spirit so as to move the Diocese forward, calling on them to go into the world to preach the gospel and win souls for Christ without fear, intimidation and persecution.
“Ensure the fulfilment of your pledges during the Trinity Ordination and Collation of Archdeacons service and also be obedient to canonical laws as contained in the church of Nigeria Anglican Communion constitution”, he said..
In his sermon , the guest preacher, Right Reverend Samuel Olukunle Egbebunmi, asked all Christians to be holy spirit filled in order to carry out the works in God’s vineyard
He said, ” Both the clergy and laity need Holy Spirit for the flesh cannot do the work of the spirit.
” Eschew bitterness against each other and uphold the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion doctrine. Also contribute your qoutas physically, spiritually and financially for the progress of our Diocese.”
Present at the Ordination and Collation of Archdeacons service include the Akota of Ikota Kingdom, Ondo State of Nigeria, Oba (Dr.) Victor Jide Akinloye; clergies and their wives, legal luminaries, business tycoons, political leaders, community leaders, among others.
