Aladekugbe tasks Nigerian leaders to rule with fear of God 

Leaders in Nigeria in all facets of life be it political, economic, financial, academic, labour, security and host of others, have been enjoined to make fear of God and righteousness their watch words.
The Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev’d Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, who made the call shortly after the Diamond Jubilee celebration of his 60th birthday at the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, said the present predicament of the country is centered on bad leadership and followership due to our lack of conscience and belief in God.
Bishop Aladekugbe in a statement by the Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade, called on Nigerian leaders to allow the country to move forward by shunning the social vices eating into the fabric of our nation.
The clergy appealed to the followers to stop murmuring but instead play their roles by being law abiding citizens, render their civic duties and pray for the leaders for the country to bounce back.
The celebrant made a clarion call on the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), to make their demand on increase in minimum wage realistic and modest in the interest of the progress of the country.
In his congratulatory message, the most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba who is the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria, said Bishop Aladekugbe throughout his years of ministry and episcopate has been a guiding light and a source of inspiration to many, stating that his commitment to spreading the gospel and nurturing the faith of others is commendable.
According to him, “we celebrate not only your achievements but also the wonderful person you are:-a compassionate shepherd, a wise leader and a cherished friend to all who know you. Your impacts on the lives you’ve touched resonates deeply and will continue to bear fruit for years to come.”
Most Rev’d Joseph Akinfenwa, the former Archbishop of Ibadan Province and presently the Bishop of Ibadan Diocese in his birthday sermon enjoined both political and religious leaders to be accommodating,tolerant and humble as no condition is permanent.
Present at the event were Bishops, clergies and their wives, royal fathers, political office holders, business tycoons, family members, friends and well-wishers.
