Oyo NAWOJ celebrates International Women’s Day 

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Oyo State Chapter has joined the global community to celebrate the International Women’s Day (IWD), on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The Chairperson of the association, Mrs. Omolola Alamu, in a statement commemorate the IWD, said this year’s theme, “Accelerate actions for a gender-equal world”, emphasized the need for urgent and sustained action to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment.

According to her,  Oyo NAWOJ is committed to using its platform to amplify the voices of women and girls, challenge patriarchal norms, and advocate for policies and practices that promote gender equality.

“Accelerating actions towards gender equality requires collective effort and commitment from governments, policymakers, civil society, and individuals.

“Oyo NAWOJ calls on all stakeholders to prioritize investments in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment for women and girls”, Alamu said.
