Koleosho’s death, great loss to Saki — Ex-Communications Minister, Shittu

Former Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Abdur. Raheem Shittu, has described the death of the former Secretary to Oyo State Government (SSG), Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleoso, as a great loss and bad news for Saki land.

The Babalaje of Saki land and former National Chairman of defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD), died on Monday at the age of 86 years.

The Chairman, Governing Council, Dave Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences (DUFUHS), Uburu, Ebonyi State, in a condolence message by his Media Office, said Chief Koleosho was perhaps the most prominent indigene of his home-town, Saki, stating that while he died at ripe age and with very successful career in business, politics and community service, the late elder statesman carved a nich for himself.

The statement read, “Indeed, he has left a legacy yet unmatched by any other person in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State. He started as a Councillor in the then Ifedapo Local Government Council. In 1979, he and my humble self contested election into the then Oyo State House of Assembly to represent Constituency 2 and 1 respectively.

“Shortly after our resumption as legislators, he was appointed as the Honourable Commissioner for Establishments and Training and then Commissioner for Works and Transport by the late Governor Bola Ige.

“His age long enterprising spirit made him the largest land owner in Saki today. He would definitely be missed by most people across Oyo State.

“My prayer is that Almighty Allah may give all of us the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. Aaaaamin.”
