Group tells aggrieved LP members to end litigations

A group within the Labour Party (LP), Labour Party Patriotic Members Congress (LPPMC), has called for an end to litigation within the party.
This is just as it said the various legal duels within the party had not only mired its National Working Committe (NWC) into fierce and notorious leadership conundrum but also afflicted, bruised and caused it dire but avoidable consequences with disintegration of leaderships in the states resulting in losses in off-season elections and depletion of membership base across the country.
The group in a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Dr. Kingsley Okundaye, at the end of a stakeholders meeting, called on the leadership of the party to engage in what it termed as unbiased harmonisation of the fragmented membership structures at all levels towards building a stronger, united, and peaceful party.
It pleaded with all parties to withdraw their pending cases in courts, imbibe the spirit of patriotism and sportmanship, shealth their swords, and give peace a chance, stating that the parties must enforce the peaceful clarion call on their followers as to move the party forward as a united front.
The statement read in part, “The LPPMC is open and willing to partner with the Nlnational and state leaderships of the party to engage in swift, comprehensive membership drive across the nation. Thus, we seize this opportunity to plead with all the faithful pro-LP Obi-dient families to go and obtain the LP membership cards in their various wards.
“We call on the party stakeholders, members and Obi-dient families alike to rally round the national leadership to birth that LP of our collective dream; with special interest in ensuring that we win both the Edo and Ondo States’ gubernatorial elections come September and November this year respectively.
“We as a body shall complement any commitment that will engender the required victories in the aforementioned state elections.”
