2014 National Confab : Yoruba monarchs back CYE on restructuring
Traditional rulers in Yorubaland under the aegis of Yoruba Obas Forum, have thrown their weight the clamour for the excavation, adoption and implementation of the 2014 national confab report conducted under the admistration of former President Goodluck Jonathan which centered around restructuring of the country.
The Secretary General of the Council of Yoruba Elders (CYE), Dr. Victor Taiwo, made the disclosure yesterday while speaking with journalists at the headquarters of the group in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to him, the royal fathers gave their support for restructuring of the country while playing hosts to the leadership of the group in their palaces.
He said the traditional rulers visited include the Deputy President of Yoruba Obas Forum and the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa, Oba Micheal Odunayo Ajayi; Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran and the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, stating that the group got positive response from all of them on the initiative it is championing on restructuring Nigeria.
Taiwo said, “The body of our traditional rulers known as Yoruba Obas Forum (YOF) gave us their unalloyed support for the initiative CYE has undertaken along the line of calling for the excavation of the 2014 CONFAB report and the general push for the urgent restructuring of the country.
“We are so glad that our fathers are now keying into our agenda on restructuring of this country by pledging their unflinching supports for the struggle.”
He lauded members of the Yoruba delegates to the 2014 national confab such as Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi; Oba Olu Falae and Barrister Bisi Adegbuyi who are in the forefront of the struggle with their total support and cooperation, urging delegates from other nationalities or geo-political zones of the country to join the train of restructuring for the betterment of the country.

However he used the opportunity of the media parley to reel out details of chairmen of each of the Yoruba states for intending members for enlistment into CYE fold.
