NUJ celebrates Alaafin at 50
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has extended its warmest congratulations to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, on the momentous occasion of his golden jubilee birthday.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the state chairman of the union, Comrade Ademola Babalola, and Secretary, Comrade Olusola Oladapo.
The union stated that the milestone marked a significant chapter in the life of a leader, who embodies the rich traditions of the Oyo Kingdom, while navigating the complexities of modern governance with distinction and grace.
“At 50, you stand as a symbol of youthful vigour, combined with the wisdom of experience.
“Nevertheless, your reign has been marked by initiatives that have been touching the lives of your people, promoting development, while preserving the sanctity of tradition.
“On this special day, the NUJ, Oyo State Council, felicitates you with heartfelt congratulations. Fifty years of life are an evidence to the blessings of longevity and the opportunities to make impactful contributions to society.”
The union noted that Oba Owoade has demonstrated a firm commitment to the cultural heritage of the Yoruba people. It added that the first-class monarch been fostering unity, peace, and development in Oyo State and beyond.
“Your leadership is a beacon of tradition blended with progressive vision. This has earned you respect, not only among the people of Oyo town, but across the nation.
“The NUJ, Oyo State Council, acknowledges your efforts in promoting harmony and cultural pride, which we have considered as vital to Nigeria’s diverse tapestry.
“We pray for your continued good health, wisdom in leadership, and boundless success in all your endeavours as the Alaafin of Oyo.
